End of an era, and start of an exciting new chapter for GVP
18th December 2018
Thank you for all your support throughout this extremely busy time. All staff have been working exceptionally hard to ensure that all the children have still enjoyed engaging and motivating learning, as well as providing time to explore transition fully and enable children to feel confident about moving to the new site. The packing has now finally begun and we are all set for the move, later today.
Today has enabled us to have a period of reflection. Throughout the Green End site’s history, the school has had many different designations and therefore educated many different age ranges. This morning, we celebrated education on the Green End site, by looking at photos and sharing information from the Gamlingay History Society about the school. We have also introduced the ‘Legacy Cup’ – an award which will be presented every Christmas to a child in Year 6 who has shown great resilience and determination throughout their school journey. This is to ensure there continues to be a connection between the old site and the new. It is hopeful that the Green End site will continue to be a building which educates the children of Gamlingay, and as previously, they will just be a different age group.
Each child received a sweet treat from the kitchen today, as a final celebration of our time here.
We hope you all have a wonderful, restful, festive period and we look forward to welcoming you to Station Road on Monday 7th January.
